Jim Blakeley, Editor.

The Blakeley One Name Study Group was initially started in the early 1990's by Joan Hadwen.  In 1995 Joan asked me to take over production of the group's newsletter, The Blakeley Gazette. The Blakeley One Name Study Group, or BONS as it is affectionately known, is a study of all things Blakeley. This includes places as well as people, it also takes in the multitude of different Blakeley Spellings.

We aim to bring together Blakeley researchers from all over the world, to share their  findings, and also to create a sense of community in our shared name and in our extended family.  Many people begin family history looking for long lost ancestors and end up finding new cousins!

Enjoy your research, and tell us all about it!

Blakeley GazetteIf you are researching ancestors with the Blakeley, Blakely, Blakley, Blackley, Bleackley, Bleakley or any other spellings of the name, why don't you join us? All that is required is that you keep a record of all the Blakeley records and Blakeley  data that you find while researching, even if it is of no use in your immediate line, and send it (e-mail or post) to the editor of the Blakeley Gazette, Jim Blakeley. The only cost to you is the printing and postage cost to get a Gazette to you.  The Gazette is published quarterly in the months prior to  January, April, July and October.

You can ask whether anyone you are researching appears on our database* and if you send an e-mail, include details of your research and any queries you cannot resolve and we will put it in The Gazette so that other members can see it and possible help you with your problem.
