BLAKESLEE TO BLAKELY IN FIVE GENERATIONS!

Moses Aaron BLAKELY was one of ten children of Aaron BLAKESLEE and Esther Andrews.
Aaron BLAKESLEE was one of 14 children of Moses BLAKESLEE and Sarah Benton.
Moses BLAKESLEE was one of four children of John BLAKESLEE and Grace Ventrus.
John BLAKESLEE was one of 10 children of Samuel BLAKESLEE and Hanna Potter.
Samuel BLAKESLEE was married to Hanna Potter and they had 10 children

Moses BLAKELY's Great great grandfather SAMUEL BLAKESLEE was born in England, sometime around 1625. He emigrated to America some time before 1650. Samuel married Hanna Potter in New Haven, Connecticut, on the 3rd of December 1650. Hanna was born around 1630.

Samuel and Hanna BLAKESLEE had 10 children:-
Moses; Mary; John born on the 22nd of October 1651, died on the 2nd of September 1653;
John born about 1653/4, died on the 12th of March 1711/12;
Hannah, born on the 22nd of October 1657 died before 1666;
Mary(2) born on the 2nd of November 1659;
Samuel, born on the 8th of April 1662, died of the 15th of October 1732;
Ebenezer born on the 17th of July 1664, died on the 24th of September 1735;
Hanna(2)was born on the 22nd of May, 1666 and died on the 8th of July 1669; and
Jonathan Blakeslee who was born on the 3rd on March 1677/8, died on the 7th of July 1669

Geat Grandfather John BLAKESLEE was born about 1653 in New Haven, Connecticut. He married Grace Ventrus in Hartford, Connecticut around 1675. Grace was born around 1649 in Farmington, CT.and died on the 12th of March 1711/12 in New Haven, CT.

John and Grace BLAKESLEE had 4 children:-
John born on the 15th of July 1676 and died on the 30th of April 1742; Moses born around 1678 and died on the 2nd of June 1756; Hanna Anna born on the 6th of August 1681 and died on the 2nd of January 1740/41; and Mary, born on the 15th of May 1683 and died on the 23rd of January 1762.

Moses BLAKLEY's Grandfather, Moses BLAKESLEE was born about 1678. He married Sarah Benton in New Haven, Connecticut on the 1st of January 1701/2. Moses died on the 2nd of June 1756 and Sarah died on the 2nd of June 1756 in Hartford, CT.

They had 14 children:-
Aaron born on the 25th of April 1704 and died in 1704; Moses born on the 25th of April 1702, died on the 26th of November 1726; Abner born on the 25th on January 1704/5 and died on the 21st of November 1726; Sarah born on the 31st of March 1708 and died sometime after 1793; Jesse born on the 30th of March 1710 and died on the 4th of July 1772; Dinah born on the 21st of January 1711/12; Job born on the 8th of December 1713 and died in 1713; Job (2) born on the 18th of December 1774; Aaron (2) born on the 18th of February 1715/16 in New England; Hannah born on the 25th of March 1719 and died on the 31st of January 1785; Phoebe born on the 12th of March 1721/22 and died on the 27th of March 1721 ; John born on the 15th of December 1723 and died on the 22nd of February1766; Mary born on the 29th of January 1725/6; Moses born on the 25th of January 1728/9 and died on the 6th of March 1807.

Moses BLAKELY's Father, Aaron BLAKESLEE was born on the 18th of February 1715/16, married Esther Andrews in New Haven on the 29th of July 1740. Esther was born around 1719 in New Haven.

They had 10 children:-
Abner born on the 24th of May 1741 and died on the 27th of November 1791; Patience born on the 25th of December 1742 and died on in 1840; Ithamar born on the 23rd of February 1744/45; Lydia born on the 24th of April 1747; Hannah born on the 17th of July 1749; Phebe born on the 8th of May 1751; Jonah born on the 3rd of May 1753; Esther born on the 8th of September 1755; Twins:- Gideon Andrew Blakeslee born on the 13th of January 1758 and died on the 15th of March 1758; and MOSES AARON BLAKELY born on the 13th of January 1758 in New Haven Connecticut.

MOSES AARON BLAKELY was the first in the family to change to the BLAKELY spelling instead of the Blakeslee surname.

Moses was born in New Haven CT. on the 13th of January 1758. He married Lucy Phelps (born on the 21st of June 1762 in Westfield MA.) in Westfield MA. around 1782. Moses died in Williamstown New York in 1837. They had one son who is known, Roswell, born in Weathersfield in 1790.

ROSWELL BLAKELY was born in 1790 in Weathersfield County, Vermont. He Married Ann Richards (born in 1801, in New York State) about 1823, in Vermont.

They had three sons:-
Lyman Blakely born in 1827 in Wayne County, New York; Lafayette Blakely born on the 13th of May, in Wayne County NY.; and Willian W. Blakely, born on the 26th of February, 1918 in Comanche County, Iowa

LAFAYETTE BLAKELY was born in Wayne County New York on the 13th of May, 1833. He Married Sarepta Jane Ward (born in 1849 in Jackson County Iowa) on the 24th of December 1865. They had two children, Hiram Roswell Blakely, born on the 20th of October 1869 in Maquaketa Iowa and died on the 30th of January 1941; Elizabeth Isabel Blakely born on the 30th of September 1873.

ELIZABETH ISABEL BLAKELY was born on the 30th of September 1873 in Comanche Township Iowa and died in Clinton Iowa on the 23rd of October 1926. She married George Vickerstaff (born on the 2nd of December 1869, in Clinton Iowa) around 1890, in Clinton. She died on the 6th of October 1936, in Clinton.

HIRAM ROSWELL BLAKELY born on the 20th of October, 1869 in Maquaketa, Iowa. He died on the 30th of January, 1941.

Was this the end of the errant BLAKELY line?
